Kallithea (Καλλιθέα) Evrytania
Kallithea is a mountainous settlement in the prefecture of Evrytania at an average altitude of one thousand meters[2]. The village is located among a fir forest on the eastern slopes of Mount Koniskos (northern extension of Kaliakouda) and the European Path E4 passes through it. It is 5.5 km. from Karpenisi to the south[3]. The old name was Biara and belonged to the municipality of Oichalia and the prefecture of Aetolia and Acarnania. In 1955 it was renamed Kallithea[4] and owes its name to the view that the village has towards the Karpenisi valley and the Karpenisiotis river. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Karpenisi, Velouchi, Gorianades and Itia, it forms the municipal community of Karpenisi, which belongs to the municipal unit of Karpenisi of the Municipality of Karpenisi and according to the 2011 census has a population of 11 inhabitants[5].
