In 1899 it was incorporated into the prefecture of Evrytania and in 1909 into the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania. In 1930 it was renamed Agia Vlacherna and in 1943 it was definitively incorporated into the prefecture of Evrytania. With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997, the settlement was detached from the community of Agia Vlacherna and annexed to the municipality of Karpenisi.[2]
Historical information

During the early Byzantine years it was called Chrysoupoli. During the brief descent of the Slavs it was called Erkista, until 1930, when it was renamed Agia Vlacherna by its residents who lived in Constantinople, where the eponymous church was located. The village historically suffered some geological disaster (landslide), which is still reported today. In all three neighborhoods of the village, there are still old mansions from another era.[12]
