Agios Sostis is a semi-mountainous village of Central Greece in the Regional Unit of Fthiotida[1], which is located at the northeastern foothills of Mount Goulina[2] at an altitude of 270 meters[3]. It is built next to and west of the Inachos or Vistritsa tributary of the Sperchios, at a distance of 4 km. SE. from Sperchiada (seat of the municipality) and 31 km. W. from Lamia. It is officially mentioned as a settlement for the first time in 1928 to be annexed to the then community of Dilofos.[4] According to the "Kallikratis" Program, together with Dilofo, it forms the local community of Agios Sostos, which falls under the municipal unit of Sperchiada of the Municipality of Makrakomi and according to the 2011 census has a population of 240 residents.[5] The local community is classified as a rural semi-mountainous settlement, with an area of 23,678 km² (2011).[6]
