Agia Marina is located on the slopes of South Pindos and Agrafa, northwest of Mount Karamanoli. It is built west and south of the artificial Lake Plastira in a verdant area full of walnut, chestnut, plane and oak trees[3]. It is 23 km. The old name of the village was Plakota and thus it is officially mentioned in 1928 that it was annexed to the then community of Karitsa Doloponi. In 1940 it was abolished while in 1961 it was recognized again with the name Plakoton and belongs to the province of Evrytania. In 1974 it was included in the Karditsa district of the Karditsa prefecture and in 1997 with the Government Gazette 152A-17/07/1997 it was renamed Agia Marina[4]. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Karitsa, Agia Paraskevi, Logga, Mega Rema, Petroto and Rafina, it forms the local community of Karitsa Dolopes, which is included in the municipal unit of Nevropolis Agrafa of the municipality of Limni Plastira and according to the 2011 census has a population of 44 inhabitants[5].
