Kalyvia (Καλύβια) Karditsa
Kalyvia Pezoulas is a settlement in Thessaly and the Regional Unit of Karditsa.[1]
General information
Kalyvia Karditsa, festival of the Holy Temple
Kalyvia is located on the western shore of the artificial Lake Tavropos at an altitude of 820 meters.[1] It is a developing settlement with many holiday homes. It is located 42 kilometers southwest of Karditsa and its population is 223 residents according to the 2011 census.[2] Before the creation of the lake, the residents of the settlement worked in the fields of Nevropolis and maintained their huts here; from their existence the area took its name.
It belongs to the Local Community of Pezoula of the Municipality of Limni Plastira in the Prefecture of Karditsa, as it was established according to the Kallikratis Program. From 1999 to 2010 according to the Kapodistrias Plan, it belonged administratively to the DD Pezoula of the Municipality of Nevropolis Agrafa.[3]
Note
Very close and northwest of the village there is the settlement of Kalyvia Fylaktis and the stream Megalo Rema or Megalo Potami separates them.[4]
