Agia Marina (Αγία Μαρίνα) Lakonia
Agia Marina is a settlement in the local community of Melitini, in the municipal unit of Smyrna, in the municipality of East Mani, in the regional unit (former prefecture) of Lakonia, in the Peloponnese region, according to the Kallikrates program.[1]
Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikrates program, it belonged to the province of Lacedaemon in the prefecture of Lakonia, in the geographical department of Peloponnese.[2][3]
The old name of the settlement was Tseria.[1]
Geographical information
Agia Marina is located in south-central Laconia, at the southeastern ends of Mount Taygetos, near the Stemnitsa stream and at an average altitude of 400 meters. It is approximately 47 km south of Sparta.[2][3][4][5][6]

Until 1928 the settlement was called Tseria
With the Government Gazette 156A - 08/08/1928 the settlement was renamed Agia Marina
With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997 it was detached from the community of Melitini and annexed to the municipality of Smyrna
With the Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010 it was detached from the municipality of Smyrna and was annexed to the municipality of East Mani
