Agia Marina is a settlement on the island of Kea. It is administratively part of the municipal community of Ioulida, of the municipality of Kea, of the regional unit of Kea - Kythnos, in the South Aegean region, according to the Kallikrates program.[1][2] Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikrates program, it belonged to the province of Kea in the Cyclades prefecture, in the geographical department of the Aegean Islands.[3]

Geography

Agia Marina is a mainland settlement in west-central Kea. It is located in a semi-mountainous position facing west towards the Bay of Kalogiros, at an average altitude of 200. It is approximately 7 km. SW. of Ioulida.[3][4][5][6][7]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"

The settlement was recognized in 1940 and annexed to the community of Kea. In 1961 it was abolished to be re-recognized in 1981, when it was annexed to the community of Ioulida. In 1996 it was detached from the community of Ioulida and annexed to the municipality of Kea.[2]
