Agia Marina (Αγία Μαρίνα) Andros

Agia Marina is a settlement on the island of Andros. It is administratively part of the local community of Ormos Korthi, of the municipal unit (former municipality) of Korthi, of the municipality of Andros, of the regional unit of Andros, in the South Aegean region, according to the Kallikratis program.[1][2] Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikratis program, it belonged to the province of Andros in the Cyclades prefecture, in the geographical department of the Aegean Islands.[3][4]

Agia Marina has been classified as a traditional settlement.[5]

Geography

Agia Marina is a mainland settlement on Andros. It is located in the northern part of the small valley formed in the bay of Korthi, opposite Korthi, at an average elevation of 65 meters. It is approximately 27 km south of Andros Town.[3][4][6][7]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"

The settlement was recognized in 1912 and annexed to the community of Ormos Korthi of Andros. With the Government Gazette 244A - 4/12/1997 it was detached from the community of Ormos Korthi and annexed to the municipality of Korthi. With the Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010, it was detached from the municipality of Korthi and annexed to the municipality of Andros.[2]
