Donatos (Δονάτος) Thesprotia
Donatos is a semi-mountainous village of the regional unit of Thesprotia at an altitude of 200 meters[1], which is located towards the eastern borders of the prefecture with the prefecture of Ioannina and west of the Kalamas (Thiamis) river. It is 34.5 km. E.-SE. from Igoumenitsa and 22 km. SE. from Filiates. Its old name was "Villia" and so it is officially mentioned in 1919 in the Government Gazette 184A-19/08/1919 to be the seat of the homonymous community which then belonged to the prefecture of Ioannina. It was renamed Donatos in 1928 and in 1937 it was detached from the prefecture of Ioannina and came under the prefecture of Thesprotia[2]. According to the "Kallikratis" Program, together with Palaiochori, they form the local community of Palaiochori, which belongs to the municipal unit of Filiates of the municipality of Filiates and according to the 2011 census has a population of 26 residents[3].
