Agia Varvara (Αγία Βαρβάρα ) Thesprotia
Agia Varvara is a settlement in the local community of Charavgi, in the municipal unit and municipality of Filiates, in the regional unit (former prefecture) of Thesprotia, in the region of Epirus, according to the Kallikrates program.[1][2] Before the Kallikrates program and the Kapodistrias plan, it belonged to the Filiates district of the prefecture of Thesprotia, in the geographical department of Epirus.[3][4]
Until 1957, the settlement was called Achouria.[3][2]
Geography
Agia Varvara is a settlement in the northeastern part of the prefecture of Thesprotia. It is located in a semi-mountainous position at the southern ends of the Tsamanta Mountains, near the gorge of the Kalamas River and at an average elevation of 170. It is approximately 46 km NE. of Igoumenitsa.[3][4][5][6][7]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement was recognized in 1951 as Achouria and annexed to the community of Lykos in the prefecture of Thesprotia. In 1957 it was renamed Agia Varvara. With the Government Gazette 244A – 4/12/1997 it was detached from the community of Haravgi and annexed to the municipality of Filiates.[2]
