Palaiochori (Παλαιοχώρι ) Raptopoulou Evrytania
Palaiochori Raptopoulou or Aspropotamos is a mountainous village of Central Greece in the Regional Unit of Evrytania[1], which is located on the borders with the Regional Unit of Aitoloakarnania and the Regional Unit of Arta. It is built on the northwestern slopes of Mount Tsouka at an altitude of 655 meters[2], south of the Potistis stream which after a while ends in the Acheloos River and at a distance of 77 km (by road via Gefiri Templas) west of Agrafa (the seat of the municipality). It was officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 2001, being registered in the then Local Department of Raptopoulou of the municipality of Aspropotamos.[3] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Raptopoulos, Kato Raptopoulos and Itea, they form the local community of Raptopoulos, which belongs to the municipal unit of Aspropotamos in the Municipality of Agrafa and according to the 2011 census has a population of 55 inhabitants[4].
Note
In Evrytania and the same municipality there is the synonymous settlement of Palaiochori Fragkistas, while in the municipality of Karpenisi there is Paleochori Psianon.
