Xirokampos (Ξηρόκαμπος ) Rethymno
Xirokampos is a small settlement in Crete, in the Regional Unit of Rethymno.[2]
General information
Xirokampos is located on the border with the Regional Unit of Heraklion and near the southern coast of the island, at an altitude of 180 meters. The village is 60 km. S.-S.W. from Rethymno, 7 km. N.W. from Tympaki, 7 km. (by road) N.E. from Agia Galini and 30 km. SE. from Spili (seat of the municipality).
It is officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1971, being registered in the community of Agia Galini.[3] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Agia Galini, they form the community of Agia Galini, which falls under the municipal unit of Lambi of the Municipality of Agios Vasilios and according to the 2021 census, 15 residents were registered[4] while in the 2011 census it had 28 residents[5].
