Ilias (Ηλίας) Karditsa
Ilias is a lowland village of the Regional Unit of Karditsa at an altitude of 100 meters[1]
Geography
Ilias is located towards the border with the Regional Unit of Larissa and is built on the western banks of the Enipeas River, between the villages of Itea (W.), Sykies (N.), Mikro Vouno (E.) and Fyllo (SW.). The village is 12 km. E. of Palamas and 29 km. NE. of Karditsa. It is officially mentioned in 1883 with the name Ilias in the Official Gazette 126A-02/04/1883 to be annexed to the then municipality of Fyllo which belonged to the prefecture of Trikkala. In 1928 its name was corrected to Ilias and in 1944 it was subordinated to the prefecture of Karditsa[2]. According to the Kallikratis plan, it constitutes, together with Itea, the Community of Itea, which falls under the Municipal Unit of Fyllo of the Municipality of Palamas[3] and according to the 2011 census has a population of 55 inhabitants[4].
