Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement was recognized in 1834 as Koutsi and was designated as the seat of the municipality of Tirynthida (Tirinthos) of the former prefecture of Argolis & Corinthia. In 1899 it was incorporated into the prefecture of Argolis and, in 1909, back into the prefecture of Argolis & Corinthia. In 1930 it was renamed Argoliko and in 1949 it was definitively incorporated into the prefecture of Argolis. In 1989 it was annexed to the municipality of Midea. With the Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010 it was detached from the municipality of Midea and annexed to the municipality of Nafplio.[3]
Historical information
During the 17th century it was called Xerochori. It was then named Koutsi, either after a toparch of Arvanitika origin who lived in the area, or from the word "Koutsiko", which in Arvanitika means "small village". The same name with the same justification, as to its name, appears in descriptions of Koutsi in Nemea.[8]
