Manesis (Μάνεσης ) Argolida
Manesis (old name: Manesi) is a lowland village in the prefecture of Argolida that in 2021 had 487 inhabitants.
It owes its name to the Turks and Arvanites, who during the period of Turkish rule gave names with Turkish elements to many of the villages in the area. During the period of 1916, it experienced great prosperity for its time, with a population of approximately 716 people. Today, Manesis does not exceed 660 inhabitants. Its inhabitants, due to its semi-mountainous terrain, are engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. The location of the village favors agriculture more.
Manesis, due to its fertile soil, produces more oranges, tangerines and olives. The main church of the village is the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, built by the villagers themselves. It also has other churches: Saint Nektarios (in the village playground), Prophet Elias (on a low mountain in the village), Panagia (on the road to Anyfi), Ypapantis tou Christou and Agioi Pantes (the village cemetery on the road to Amygdalitsa and Villa).

The population of Manesis had a significant increase from 1879 to 1971, but since then it has decreased considerably.
