Arachnaio (Αραχναίο) Argolida
Arachnaio, formerly known as Cheli, is a mountainous village in the Argolida prefecture. Until 2010, it belonged to the former Municipality of Midea. It is located on the northern slopes of the homonymous mountain at an altitude of 600 meters. Its permanent population according to the 2021 census is 485 inhabitants. Arachnaio was called Heli until 1915, when it was renamed Arachnaio.[1]
Population
Arachnaio experienced a slight population increase from 1879 to 1920, while in 1928 and 1940 it had a very large population increase. From 1951 to the present day, the population has decreased significantly.
