Alonia (Αλώνια) Zakynthos
Alonia is a village in Zakynthos. Administratively, it belongs to the local community of Ano Gerakariou, the municipal unit (former municipality) of Alykes, the municipality of Zakynthos, the regional unit (former prefecture) of Zakynthos, in the Ionian Islands region, according to the Kallikrates program.[3][4] Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikrates program, it belonged to the province and prefecture of Zakynthos, in the geographical department of the Ionian Islands.[5][6]
Geography
Alonia is a lowland village in eastern Zakynthos. It is located next to the Alykes-Kato Gerakariou provincial road, at an average elevation of 40. It is approximately 13 km NW of Zakynthos town.[5][6][7][8][9]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement was recognized in 1961 and annexed to the community of Ano Gerakari in the prefecture of Zakynthos. With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997 it was detached from the community of Ano Gerakari and annexed to the municipality of Alykes. With the Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010 it was detached from the municipality of Alykes and annexed to the municipality of Zakynthos.[4]
