Lazochori is a settlement in Central Macedonia in the Regional Unit of Imathia,[1] which is located approximately 6 km north of Veroia at an altitude of 55 meters.[2] It was inhabited by Pontian refugees from the Kars province of Pontus, whose descendants continue to live there. The main occupation of the inhabitants is agriculture and livestock.
It is officially reported, after the Balkan Wars and the liberation of Macedonia, in 1920 to be annexed to the municipality of Veria.[3] According to the "Kallikratis" Program and its amendment by Cleisthenes I, together with Veroia, Kydonochori, Mesi and Tagarochori constitute the community of Veria[4] which falls under the Municipal Unit of Veroia of the Municipality of Veroia, while according to the 2011 census, 380 residents were registered.[5] The population censuses after World War II are:
