Evrypedo is located towards the southern border with the Regional Unit of Kavala, to the east of the Drama plain at an altitude of 134 meters[2]. It is approximately 14 km. NE. from Kalampaki (municipality seat), 19 km. E.-SE. from Drama and 30 km. N.-NW. from Kavala. The village is northwest and next to Kyria (Kyrgia) and southwest of Vathychori. Its old name, from the Turkish occupation, was Asaa Mahale and its Muslim inhabitants after the Asia Minor catastrophe and the Greek-Turkish population exchange of 1923 moved to Turkey while 83 refugee families (317 people) initially came and settled in the village.[3] Thus, it is officially mentioned in 1919 in the Government Gazette 251A - 20/11/1919 that it was annexed to the then community of Kiria. In 1927 with the Government Gazette 76A - 02/05/1927 it was renamed Evrypedon.[4] According to the "Kallikratis" Program, together with Kyria, Ypsilo, Vathychori and Vathyspilo, it constitutes the local community of Kyria, which falls under the municipal unit of Doxato of the Municipality of Doxato and according to the 2011 census has a population of 135 residents.[5]
