Dimitriada (Δημητριάδα) Magnisia
Dimitriada is a coastal settlement in Thessaly in the Regional Unit of Magnesia.[1]
General information
Dimitriada is located on the western coast of the Pagasitic Gulf, approximately 22 km southwest of Volos. To the north is Nea Anchialos, to the west Aidini and Mikrothebes, while to the southwest is the Nea Anchialos State Airport. In the surrounding area of the village, various types of trees are cultivated, such as citrus fruits or fruit trees (olives).
It is officially listed as a separate settlement for the first time in 1991, when it was registered in the municipality of Volos.[2] According to the Kallikrates program and its amendment by Cleisthenes I, it belongs to the community of Nea Anchialos, which falls under the Municipal Unit of Nea Anchialos of the Municipality of Volos and according to the 2011 census it had 66 residents[3] while in 2001 and 1991 it had 90[4] and 40[5] respectively.
Note
The settlement should not be confused with the abolished synonymous settlement of Dimitrias or Dimitriada, which since 1981 has been annexed to the city of Volos due to their residential union.[6]
