Ano Esochoria (Άνω Εσωχώρια) Evrytania
Ano Esochoria is a mountainous village in the Regional Unit of Evrytania at an altitude of 960 meters[2], which is located on the southwestern border of the prefecture with Aitoloakarnania. It is 43 km. SW. from Karpenisi, 49 km. NE. from Agrinio and 15 km. W. from the Holy Monastery of Prousos[3]. It was recognized as a settlement in 1929 and was annexed to the then community of Prousos[4]. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Prousos, the Holy Monastery of Prousos, Kouli and Tsikneika, they constitute the local community of Prousos which belongs to the municipal unit of Prousos of the Municipality of Karpenisi and according to the 2011 census has a population of 29 inhabitants[5].
