Agios Dimitrios (Άγιος Δημήτριος) Evoia

gios Dimitrios Distyon or Argyrou is a seaside settlement on the border of central and southern Evia, in the Regional Unit of Evia.[2]
Geographical - historical data

Agios Dimitrios is a holiday settlement of Argyrou on the coast of the South Evian Gulf, in the Almyropotamos bay with an altitude of 23 meters[3]. It is 5 km. S.-S.W. from Argyrou, 28 km. S.-SE. from Aliveri (seat of the municipality) and 73 km. SE. from Chalkida. It has a large beach along which there are eucalyptus trees and a pier for small boats. It owes its name to the homonymous chapel which, according to tradition, was founded in 1880. It is officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1971, being registered in the then community of Argyros.[4] According to the program, Kallikratis, together with Argyros and Boufalo, constitute the local community of Argyros, which falls under the municipal unit of Distion of the Municipality of Kymi - Aliveri and according to the 2011 census, has a population of 68 residents[5].
