Kastanoula (Καστανούλα) Evrytania

Kastanoula is a mountainous settlement in the prefecture of Evrytania at an altitude of 860 meters [1]. The village is located on the northern slopes of Mount Platani, south of Krikeliotis and 48 km south of Karpenisi. Its old name, until 1928, was Selitsa [3], which means sunny because it was built on a mountain clearing. With the Government Gazette 81A-14/05/1928 it was renamed Kastanoula [4] due to the many chestnuts that are planted in the village. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Diana, Agios Charalambos, Vythisma and Palaiochori, they constitute the local community of Psiana belonging to the municipal unit of Domnista of the Municipality of Karpenisi and according to the 2011 census it has a population of 12 inhabitants.
