Koila is a settlement in Thrace and the Evros Regional Unit.[1]
General information
Koila is located at an altitude of 180 meters[1] and is 34 km. E.-NE. of Alexandroupolis. To the east is Itea, to the southwest is Melia, while on the north side of the village begins the Dadia National Park. This empty village is of interest to archaeologists. In 1821, 892 Thracian revolutionaries gathered in the village church, swearing an oath to the homeland, starting the difficult struggle for freedom.
