Agia Anastasia (Αγία Αναστασία) Kythira

Agia Anastasia is a settlement on the island of Kythira. Administratively, it falls under the local community of Potamos, of the municipal unit and municipality of Kythira, of the regional unit of Islands, in the region of Attica, according to the Kallikrates program.[1][2] Before the Kallikrates program and the Kapodistrias plan, it belonged to the Kythira province of the Piraeus prefecture and then to the Attica prefecture, in the geographical department of Central Greece.[3][4]

Geography

Agia Anastasia is a mainland settlement in the northern part of Kythira. It is located between the villages of Potamos and Karavas, at an average altitude of 320. It is approximately 24 km. N.E. of Kythira Town.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"

The settlement, following the administrative changes of the island of Kythera, belonged successively to various prefectures or prefectures. At the end of the 19th century it belonged to the prefecture of Argolis & Corinth and then to the prefecture of Laconia. In 1929 the district was incorporated into the prefecture of Attica and, in 1964, to the prefecture of Piraeus. With the Government Gazette 66A - 8/05/1972 it was reintegrated into the prefecture of Attica. With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997, it was detached from the community of Potamos and annexed to the municipality of Kythira.[2]
