Agatho (Αγαθό) Evoia
Agatho is a settlement in the local community of Kallianos, in the municipal unit (former municipality) of Marmari, in the municipality of Karystos, in the regional unit (former prefecture) of Evoia, in the region of Central Greece, according to the Kallikratis program.[1][2] Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikratis program, it belonged to the Karystia district of the Evia prefecture, in the geographical department of Central Greece.[3][4]
Geography
Agatho is a semi-mountainous settlement in the southern part of Evia. It is located at the northern foothills of Ochi, in a position overlooking the Aegean Sea, near the exit of the Dimosaris gorge and a little north of Kallianos, at an average altitude of 350. [i] It is approximately 137 km. SE. of Chalkida.[5][3][4][6][7]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement was recognized in 1875 and was annexed to the municipality of Karystos in the prefecture of Evia. In 1912 it was annexed to the community of Kallianos. With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997 it was detached from the community of Kallianos and annexed to the municipality of Marmari. With the Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010 it was detached from the municipality of Marmaris and annexed to the municipality of Karystos.[2]
Sights
The Dimosaris Gorge: through the village of Kallianos, there is access to the last section of the gorge, just before its exit into the Aegean Sea, but one can also walk it in the opposite and more difficult, southern direction, towards Ochi. Also, Agathos is the end of many paths that cross Ochi and Karystia, in general
Notes
i. ^ Other, newer sources report lower altitudes (300, 250 or 200) for the settlement, however the location given by the Google Earth application for the settlement is at 350 meters, in agreement with the old sources
