Vrachos (Βράχος) Evoia
Vrachos is a very small semi-mountainous settlement in the Regional Unit of Evoia[1] which is located at the northern foothills of Mount Ochi at an altitude of 390 meters[2]. It is 36 km. N.-NE. from Karystos (municipal seat) and 141 km. SE. from Chalkida. It is officially mentioned for the first time under the name Tzonaioi as a separate settlement in 1920, being registered in the then community of Kallianos, while in 1954 with the Government Gazette 188A - 19/08/1954 it was renamed Vrachos.[3] According to the Kallikratis program, together with Kallianos, Lenossai, Agathos, Kalergos and Sotira, it forms the local community of Kallianos, which falls under the municipal unit of Marmaris of the Municipality of Karystos and according to the 2011 census has 5 residents.[4]
