Agalo (Αγάλω) Arkadia
Agalo, known until 1927 as Aramouza[1], is a settlement in the local community of Rafti, in the municipal unit (former municipality) of Iraia, in the municipality of Gortynia, in the regional unit (former prefecture) of Arcadia, in the Peloponnese region, according to the Kallikrates program.[1][2] Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikrates program, it belonged to the Gortynia province of the Arcadia prefecture, in the geographical department of Peloponnese.[3][4]
Geography
Agalo is a settlement in the western part of the Arcadia prefecture. It is located in a mountainous area overlooking the Lousios River gorge in the west, at an average elevation of 460. It is approximately 75 km. NW. of Tripoli.[3][4][5][6][7][8]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement was recognized in 1879 as Aramousa and was annexed to the municipality of Iraia in the prefecture of Arcadia. In 1912 it was separated from the municipality of Iraia and annexed to the community of Rafti (Rafti). In 1927 it was renamed Agalo. With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997 it was detached from the Rafti community and annexed to the municipality of Iraia. With the Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010 it was detached from the municipality of Iraia and annexed to the municipality of Gortynia.[2]
