Tristrato (Τρίστρατον ) Argolida
Tristrato is a settlement in Argolida in the Peloponnese.[3]
Geographical - historical information
Tristrato is located in the Argolic plain, at an altitude of 50 meters[4] and a distance of approximately 6 km. N.-NE. from Argos with the Inachos River between them. Northwest of the village is Koutsopodi and east of it is Neo Iraio.
In the Morea Campaign it is recorded under the name Vardouva, belonging to the District of Nafplio (Nauplie).[5] It is officially mentioned for the first time in 1834 with its old name, from the Ottoman occupation, as Vardouva, being annexed to the then municipality of Inachia. In 1927 it was renamed Tristraton.[6] According to the Kallikrates Plan and its amendment by Cleisthenes I, together with Inachos, they form the community of Inachos[7], which falls under the Municipal Unit of Argos of the Municipality of Argos - Mycenae. In the 2021 census, they had 115 residents[8] while in the 2011 census they had 116[9].
