Argyro Nero (Αργυρό Νερό) Lasithi
Argyro Nero is a settlement in the Exo Potamos community, in the municipal unit and municipality of Agios Nikolaos, in the regional unit (former prefecture) of Lasithi, in the region of Crete, according to the Kallikratis program.[2][3] Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikratis program, it belonged to the Lasithi district of the Lasithi prefecture, in the geographical department of Crete.[4]
In the 2011 census, the settlement was recorded as having no residents.[2]
Geography
Argyro Nero is a mountainous settlement in the W. NW. part of the Lasithi prefecture. It is located on the southwestern slopes of the peak "c" (1,487) of Mount Selena and on the provincial road Neapoleos-Oropediou, at an average elevation of 900 (the 3rd highest settlement in the prefecture). It is approximately 27 km W. N. W. of Agios Nikolaos.[4][5][6][7]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement was recognized in 1925 and was annexed to the community of Exo Potamos in the prefecture of Lasithi. With the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997 it was detached from the community of Exo Potamos and annexed to the municipality of Agios Nikolaos.[3]
General information
The name of the settlement justifies the existence of abundant water of excellent quality. In the past, the settlement was also called Androulidon or Vlachidon by the families who lived there.[11]
