Ano Ekklisia (Άνω Εκκλησία) Grevena
Ano Ekklisia or Panoekklisia is a mountainous village in the regional unit of Grevena at an altitude of 990 meters[1][2].
Geographical - historical data
Ano Ekklisia is located to the north of the prefecture and the border with the prefecture of Kozani, 18 km northwest of Grevena. It is built in a forest of oak trees, next to the Grevena - Dilofou provincial road. The village was created when in 1970 residents from Ekklisia began to move closer to the road[3]. As a settlement, it is officially reported in 1981 to belong to the then community of Agios Kosmas[4]. Together with Agios Kosmas and Ekklisia, they form the local community of Agios Kosmas, which belongs to the municipal unit of Grevena of the Municipality of Grevena and according to the 2011 census has a population of 25 residents.[5]
