Agios Ilias (Άγιος Ηλίας) Kythira
Agios Ilias is a settlement on the island of Kythira. Administratively, it falls under the local community of Karvounades, of the municipal unit and municipality of Kythira, of the regional unit of Islands, in the region of Attica, according to the Kallikratis program.[3][4] Before the Kapodistrias plan and the Kallikratis program, it belonged to the Kythira province of the Piraeus prefecture and then to the Attica prefecture, in the geographical district of the Ionian Islands.[5][6]
Geography
Agios Ilias is a Mediterranean, semi-mountainous settlement in the south-central part of Kythira, at an average elevation of 315. It is located a little east of Karvounades and the main road of the island that connects Agia Pelagia with Kythira Town, from which it is approximately 6.5 km to the north.[5][6][7][8][9]

Administrative changes until "Kallikratis"
The settlement is reported since 1866 to be annexed to the municipality of Kythira in the prefecture of Zakynthos. In 1899 it was successively incorporated into the then prefectures of Argolis & Corinth and Lakoniki and in 1909 back into the prefecture of Argolis & Corinth. In 1929 it came under the jurisdiction of the prefecture of Attica and Boeotia and in 1943 it was subordinated to the prefecture of Attica. With the Government Gazette 185A - 30/10/1964 the settlement was detached to the prefecture of Piraeus and with the Government Gazette 66A - 8/05/1972 it was annexed to the prefecture of Attica. Finally, with the Government Gazette 244A - 04/12/1997, it was detached from the community of Karvounades and annexed to the municipality of Kythira.[4]
