Description
English: The so-called Venus with Perfume Bottle. Roman artwork sculpted in marble towards 100–110 CE. It's a copy of a Hellenistic original from circa 150 BC of the so-called Marine Venus type. In the 17th century was added a perfume bottle under the right hand, leading to this work's best-known name. The head comes from a restoration carried out by Valeriano Salvatierra in the early 19th century.
Español: La llamada Venus del Pomo. Obra romana esculpida en mármol hacia 100–110 d.C. Es una copia de un original helenístico de en torno a 150 a.C. del tipo llamado Venus Marina. En el siglo XVII fue añadido el pomo de perfume bajo la mano derecha que da nombre a la obra. La cabeza es resultado de una restauración de principios del siglo XIX a cargo de Valeriano Salvatierra.
