In Greek mythology, Nausicaa, (also Náusikaa or Nausicaä) (Ναυσικάᾶ) was a daughter of King Alcinous of the Phaeaceans. In the Odyssey, she found the shipwrecked Odysseus and brought him to her father. Odysseus recounts his adventures to Alcinous for a substantial portion of the Odyssey, and Alcinous provides Odysseus with the ships that finally bring him home to Ithaca. According to Aristotle and Dictys, she married Telemachus, Odysseus's son, and had a son named Perseptolis or Ptoliporthus (Eustath. ad Hom. p. 1796; Dict. Cret. vi. 6.)

"Would you young ladies move some distance off,
so I can wash salt water off my shoulders
by myself and then rub on the olive oil.
It's a long time since oil was on my skin.
I won't wash myself in front of you,
for I'm ashamed to stand stark naked
in the presence of such fair-haired girls." , Odyssey

Sophocles was an actor two times : a) as the blind old Thamyris playing on the harp, b) in “Nausikaa.” a work lost. In a scene of the Odyssey Nausiakaa with her maidens meets on the sea-shore the naked Odysseus. Sophocles dressed in women’s clothes prepresented one of the maidens of Nausikaa playing ball.
