One of the most important finds in Thesprotia is the
4th cent. BC cist grave, that was discovered randomly
near the village of Prodromi. Earth was accumulated on
the grave in the form of a low hill. An area of sacrifices
with traces of fire was discovered nearby. The burial
offerings testify that the grave belonged to a distinguished
deceased, either an official or a distinguished warrior-hero.
Particularly for noblemen, dying in the battle was a great honour.
