Theodora (Θεοδώρα ) Rethymno
Theodora or Thodora is a village and the seat of the homonymous community of the Municipality of Mylopotamos in the Regional Unit of Rethymno, Crete. It is 44 km from Rethymno and 33.5 from Heraklion and is built at an altitude of 350 m,[1] at the southern foot of Mount Kouloukonas.
The oldest mention of the village is in the 1881 census, when it had 43 residents, all Christians, and belonged to the municipality of Damasta. In the 1900 census, it had 76 residents and belonged to the same municipality. In 1920, it was designated the seat of a rural municipality of the same name.[1] In 1925 it was annexed to the community of Aloida, but in 1931 it was designated as the seat of the community of Theodora, which remained until the Kapodistrian administrative division in 1997, when it was incorporated into the municipality of Kouloukonas.[2]

In 2013, the construction of the church of Agia Theodora, which had begun in 2003, was completed.[3] The main church of the parish is dedicated to Saint George. The chapel of the Transfiguration of the Savior also belongs to the parish of the village.[4]
