Nomi (Νομή) Trikala

Nomi[2] is a settlement in Thessaly in the Trikala Regional Unit.[2][3]

General information

The prefecture is located on the southern border with the Karditsa Regional Unit at an altitude of 95 meters[2] while they are approximately 18 km. E.-SE. from the center of Trikala, 24 km. N. from Karditsa and 23 W.-SW. from Farkadona (seat of the municipality). At the northern edge of the village passes the Litheos River while at the south the Pinios River, which separates it from Pedino. To the north is Petroporos and to the northwest is Faneromeni. The inhabitants are Karagounis who are mainly engaged in agriculture and livestock farming.[4] A sight to see is the church of Agia Paraskevi at the southern edge.[3]

It is officially mentioned, after the Union of Thessaly, in 1883 in Government Gazette 126A - 02/04/1883, that it was annexed to the then municipality of Trikaia and in 1950 in Government Gazette 141A - 27/06/1950, that it was designated as the seat of the newly founded community of the same name.[5] According to the Kallikrates program and its amendment by Kleisthenes I, it is a community[6] that falls under the Municipal Unit of Pelinnae of the Municipality of Farkadona and according to the 2011 census, 378 residents were registered.[7] The population trend after World War II, according to the censuses, is:
