Loutro (Λουτρόν) Larissa
Loutro is a settlement in Thessaly in the Regional Unit of Larissa.[1]
General information
Loutro (older names Aoutouklar and Loutros[2]) is located in the west of the former prefecture, approximately 25 kilometers southwest of the city of Larissa, near the borders with the former prefectures of Trikala and Karditsa and on the eastern side of Mount Titaros (Dovroutsi) with the Antenna Park for digital television[3].
It is officially mentioned, after the Union of Thessaly with Greece, with its old name as Loutros (Aoutouklar) in 1883 in Government Gazette 126A - 02/04/1883 being annexed to the then municipality of Krannonos and in 1912 being renamed Loutron.[4] According to the Kallikratis program, together with Argyromylos, they form the community of Loutro Larissa, which falls under the Municipal Unit of Koilada of the Municipality of Larissa and according to the 2011 census has 256 residents.[5]
