Erstmals taucht das Paris-Urteil in der "Ilias" von Homer auf.
In der Malerei gibt es "Das Urteil des Paris" von Lucas Cranach d. Ä., 1530, Öl, Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, von Massimiliano Soldani-Benzi eine Bronze, um 1695/1700 oder bspw. den Kupferstich von Marcantonio Raimondi, um 1515/16, [1] (http://www.kgi.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/raffael/kap_7/kap_7_3.htm). Von Peter Paul Rubens finden sich u. a. so betitelte Ölgemälde im Madrider Museo del Prado und der Washingtoner National Gallery of Art.
"Das Urteil des Paris" war in der Barockmalerei ein beliebtes Motiv, bot es doch die Gelegenheit, drei unbekleidete Frauen in unterschiedlicher Pose abzubilden.
1886/87 schuf Max Klinger, Maler, Radierer und Bildhauer ein entsprechendes Gemälde.
Im 19. Jahrhundert feierte Paris in Offenbachs Operette "Die schöne Helena" eine Wiederkehr.
Von Otto Reuther gibt es eine musikalische Komödie in einem Akt, (1943) Deutschland, Musik von Cesar Bresgen.
Bohuslav Martinů, tschechischer Komponist, schrieb eine gleichnamige Oper (1953).
Zu den neueren Arbeiten zählt "Das Urteil des Paris" von Manfred Queisser, Öl auf Hartfaser, 1999.
Stefan Thomas (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) modellierte eine Figurengruppe "Das Urteil des Paris", die im Mai 2004 auf dem Schulhof der Kaufmännischen Schule der Hansestadt Greifswald aufgestellt wurde. Hera ist von musizierenden Kindern umgeben, Athene trägt Bücher, Schreibzeug und Eule, Aphrodites Attribute sind Spiegel, Schminktopf und Kristallflakon. Die Geste des Paris mit drei erhobenen Fingern bietet hier eine neue Lösung. Paris wählt alle drei als schöne Göttinnen, aber keine zur Schönsten. Anstelle antiker Zwietracht scheint bei Stefan Thomas vernünftige Eintracht auf, gleichsam ein salomonisches Urteil.
