The sleeping Eros (Amor) and Psyche (Soul) trying to see his face with a lamp. Psyche was so beautifull that even Aphrodite became jealous of her. Aphrodite asked her son Eros to make Psyche fall in love with an ugly man. Finally Eros himself was the lover of Psyche. He visited Psyche every night in the dark although she was not allowed to see his face. One night Psyche lit an oil lamp too see his face but an oil drop fell on Eros who was angry that she did not follow his order. He left Psyche but after some adventures the two lovers Eros and Psyche reunited.
