5745 : Statue of Odysseus

The mythical king of Ithaca is wearing a one-sleeved chiton (εξωμίς), fastened on the left
shoulder, and a conical cap (πίλος) on the head. He is represented walking forcefully towards the
right. His upper torso leans forward. A himation is wrapped around the waist instead of a belt.
The sculpture must belong to the same statuary group with the statue no. 5746
Parian marble. Before the middle of the 1st c. B.C.
