Zarmpoutaiika (Ζαρμπουταίϊκα) Evoia
Zarmpoutaiika is a small seaside settlement in the Regional Unit of Evia[1] with an altitude of 19 meters[2], which is located at the southern tip of Evia and the coast of Karystos Bay. It is 121 km. SE. from Chalkida and about 3 km. W.-SW. from Karystos (seat of the municipality). It is known for the sandy beach of Livadaki, 200 meters long, with very shallow waters and tamarisk trees along its western side.[3]
Historical information
It is officially listed as a separate settlement for the first time in 2001, being registered in the then local district of Aetos of the municipality of Karystos.[1] According to the Kallikratis program, together with Karystos, it forms the local community of Aetos of the municipal unit of Karystos, which falls under the Municipality of Karystos and according to the 2011 census has 9 permanent residents[4].
