Zarkadaiika (Ζαρκαδαίικα) Arta
Zarkadaiika is a small settlement in the Municipality of Arta with 22 permanent residents (2011 census)[1] and is approximately 8 kilometers from the city of Arta.
According to the Kapodistrias Plan, Zarkadaiika was until the end of 2010, a settlement of the newly established Municipality of Vlacherna. Based on the new administrative division provided for by the Kallikratis Plan, Zarkadaiika was incorporated into the Municipality of Arta. Zarkadaiika together with Vlacherna form the local community of Vlacherna with a total population of 388 residents.[2]
Administrative changes
The settlement was recognized in 1940 and incorporated into Vlacherna. In 1997 the settlement was incorporated into the Municipality of Vlacherna and in 2010 into the Municipality of Arta.[2][3]
Location and access
The settlement is adjacent to the villages of Grammenitsa and Grimpovo.
