Xirokampos (Ξηρόκαμπος) Arta
Xirokampos is a settlement in Epirus, in the Regional Unit of Arta.[1][2]
General information
Xirokampos is located on the northwestern slopes of the Valtos Mountains, at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters[2], making it the highest-altitude habitable village in the prefecture. It is built opposite and overlooking the slopes of Tzoumerka, surrounded by dense fir forests.
Xirokampos belongs, following the new administrative division based on the Kallikratis program, to the Municipality of Georgios Karaiskakis (previously it belonged to the Municipality of Heraklion-district, which was incorporated into the municipality of Georgios Karaiskakis),[3] one of the two mountainous municipalities of the prefecture of Arta and according to the 2011 census it had a population of 93 residents[4] while according to the 2001 census it was 130[5].
