Vrysopoula (Βρυσοπούλα) Thesprotia
Vrysopoula is a small settlement in Epirus, in the Regional Unit of Thesprotia.[1]
General information
Vrysopoula is located on the eastern borders of Thesprotia, at the western foothills of Mount Chionistra,[1] at an altitude of 320 meters[2]. It is 11 km. NW. from Paramythia (seat of the municipality) and 30 km. E. from Igoumenitsa (via Egnatia).
After the liberation in 1919, it is officially reported to have been annexed to the then community of Tsourilla (present-day Kallithea).[3] According to the "Kallikratis" program and its amendment by Cleisthenes I, together with Kallithea and Avaritsa, they form the community of Kallithea Souliou[4], which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Paramythia of the Municipality of Souli and according to the 2021 census, 22 residents were registered[5] while in the 2011 census there were 74[6].
