Vrousti (Βρούστι) Argolida
Vrousti is a mountainous village in Argolida.[2] It is located at an altitude of 650 meters[3] on the western side of Mount Brahriami. Administratively, it is part of the Vrousti community of the Koutsopodi municipal unit of the Argos-Mycenae municipality of the Peloponnese region.[4] The 2021 census recorded 15 permanent residents in the village.[5]
The village's residents are mainly engaged in livestock farming and olive growing. The village was almost deserted in the post-war years and the residents moved permanently to their winter homes in Stathaiika, which is now the seat of the community.[6] It is believed that the name of the village comes from the German word "brust" which means chest and must have come from the name of the settlement in Arcadia where the first inhabitants came from and at the same time describes the location of the village. However, there are also theories that claim an Arvanite or Slavic origin. [6]

Vrousti experienced a population increase from 1879 to 1940 but since then its population has decreased significantly.
