Vounoreia (Βουνόρεια) Ioannina

Vounoria is a mountainous village in the Prefecture of Ioannina at an altitude of 600 meters[1], which is located in the southwest of the prefecture and on the border with the Prefecture of Arta. The village is built on the western slopes of Tzoumerka (Athamanika Ori) and east of the Arachthos River. It is 49 km. SE. of the city of Ioannina and 15.5 km. SW. of Pramanta. As a settlement, it has been included in the Greek censuses since 1940 as part of the then community of Raftanaioi.[2] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Paleomochousti, Megali Rachi, Mylokopio, Pallikari, Zalouchos, Plaka, Raftanaioi, Rouga and Fraxos, they constitute the local community of Raftanai, which belongs to the municipal unit of Pramanta in the Municipality of North Tzoumerka and according to the 2011 census has a population of 16 inhabitants.[3]
