Vouliasta is a semi-mountainous village in the prefecture of Ioannina in Epirus, at an altitude of 280 meters[1].
Geographical information - attractions
Vouliasta is located 30 km south of the city of Ioannina[2], on the Arta - Ioannina national road and is built in a lush green area on both banks of the Louros River between running waters and plane trees[3][4]. Attractions in the area are the trout fish farms on the Louros River as well as the old watermill (mantani), which has been declared a historical monument since 1994, "because these are remarkable buildings of popular pre-industrial architecture, important for the study of the history of architecture in the area"[5]. Of interest are the blue lake of the Louros springs, a few hundred meters from the road[3] and the riverside route Vouliasta - Chani Terovo - Siranga Kleisouras[4]. Every year, in August, the local cultural association organizes the event "Trout Festival"[6].
In the village of Vouliasta is the blue lake of Viros, where the sources of the Louros river are located.
