Vlacherna (Βλαχέρνα) Arta
Vlacherna is a village in the Municipality of Arta with 366 permanent residents (2011 census)[1] and is approximately 1 kilometer from the city of Arta.
According to the Kapodistrias Plan, Vlacherna was until the end of 2010, a settlement of the newly established Municipality of Vlacherna. Based on the new administrative division provided for by the Kallikratis Plan, Vlacherna was incorporated into the Municipality of Arta. Vlacherna together with Zarkadeika form the local community of Vlacherna with a total population of 388 residents.[2] The village is home to the Byzantine church of Panagia Vlacherna.
Administrative changes
The settlement was annexed in 1919 to Grammenitsa, while in 1922 it was separated and became the permanent seat of the community of Vlacherna. In 1997 the settlement was incorporated into the Municipality of Vlacherna and in 2010 into the Municipality of Arta.[2][3]

The village is adjacent to Arta and Grammenitsa.
