Stavros (Σταυρός) Aitoloakarnania
Stavros is a semi-mountainous village of the Aitoloakarnania Regional Unit with an altitude of 500 meters.[2]
General information
Stavros is located towards the western border with the Evrytania Regional Unit, between the artificial lakes of Kastraki (A.) and Kremasto (S.). It is 31 km. N.-N.W. from Agrinio and the Karpenisi - Agrinio National Road passes through the village. Its old name is Tsiakla and thus it is reported in 1951 to belong to the then community of Ampelia. In 1954 it was renamed Stavros[3]. According to the Kallikratis program, it belongs to the local community of Ampelia which falls under the municipal unit of Parakambylia of the Municipality of Agrinio and according to the 2011 census it has a population of 15 residents.[4]
